It sounds like a double entendre - destiny over decisions. Especially because your destiny requires you to make decisions all the time.
Or does it?
Whenever we’re taking strides toward destiny, there will be a plethora of decisions we will make, but why do we feel rushed to always make some kind of decision?
Society has pressured us into thinking that “now” is the key to progression and winning. Because if it isn’t done now, then it can never be done, right?
After all, if you aren’t grinding 24/7, how can you ever say you’re chasing destiny or building a legacy?
If I don’t move “now”, somebody else might get it first. Scary thought, right?
What’s even scarier is that you believe that someone else could ever get your destiny at all. God doesn’t share destinies.
With that being said, I think it’s more important to choose destiny over decisions every time; and sometimes, your destiny requires you to not know what’s going on.
As crazy as it sounds in our rushed society filled with the millions of people who refuse to rest, it’s true.
I often tell people to wait for the pause. There’s always a pause in between wanting to do something and actually doing it. In fact, that pause can keep you from making decisions that would sabotage your destiny.
Destiny isn’t some ongoing, never ending journey that leads to a final place. It’s an ongoing journey of pursuit that encapsulates planning, resting, stopping, failures and victories.
You can’t retire from your calling and you don’t arrive at your destiny.
You become it. You walk it out. You pursue it, but you don’t arrive. Destiny is the fulfillment of your God designed purpose and in destiny, you will evolve. You’ll continue to recreate yourself as you mature and experience new things.
So if you’re always making decisions and never taking the time to see if your steps thus far have brought you closer to destiny, then how can you know that you’re making purposeful progress?
Stop looking at the clock and refuse to make your destiny about a series of decisions that must be made all the time.
If you’re in a place right now where you just aren’t sure, that’s okay. You don’t need to make a decision right now or everyday. Some days, destiny is relaxing in the idea that you have to wait for things to unfold. So if you have to choose between making a decision all the time and pursuing destiny moments most of the time, choose destiny.
